The scale isn’t quite cooperating with me, but my measurements are getting back in line. I can live with that.
Starting Weight: 233.6
Last Weigh-in: 218.5
Current Weight: 219.9
Yes, it’s up. It’s back in that 220 territory that plagues me. But I’m okay with that (for now). I realized that I was making poor choices and I’m working hard to fix those. I am actively choosing to make better choices. But as always – it takes much longer to see and feel the effects of the good choices than it does the bad choices.
I don’t think I’m going to make my goal of hitting 205 before the cruise. I have 23 days to go. But I’ll live! And I’ll still have a fantastic vacation. I will also be much stronger in 23 days than I am right now. My body will be changing. It just may not hit that arbitrary goal I set.
Today was the end of Week 1 of Strong Lifts. And I did well. I hit every rep this week. It’s starting to be more challenging as the weight goes up – which is the point! The day is coming where I don’t hit every rep. I just have to remember not to think of it as failure and be disappointed. I am making progress with every workout!
Today I squatted 55 lbs – and my form is getting better each workout. I benched 50 lbs, and I did the barbell row at 70 lbs.
AND – the deadlift from Wednesday didn’t incapacitate me. I had some pain the next morning, but with a little anti-inflammatory I ended up perfectly fine for the day.
