I bought a Withings scale last week. I love it because I don’t have to recite my weight to myself each morning so that I don’t forget what it is before I go log it after my shower and everything else I do in the mornings. What I don’t love about it is that my stats are off this week because it registers a 2lb difference from my old scale.
I think that means that I’m just going to lose those two pounds and basically double count them after this week. I can’t go modify all of my previous weigh-ins by 2lbs to adjust everything.
What does that mean for me? Well, nothing really. I’m not going to adjust what I’m doing because what I’m doing is clearly working. It simply means that I need to remind myself that it’s not the numbers on the scale that matter. The trend is still down, even if it says 1lb or 3lbs lost – either way, it’s down.
Starting Weight: 233.6
Last Weigh-in: 222.4
Current Weight: 221.3 (this is new scale, the old scale says 219.4)
Difference: -1.1 (if I went by the old scale, this would be 3lbs down)
Total Weight Lost: 12.3 pounds (14.2 by the old scale)
And as always, my measurements show overall change rather than the difference from week to week.
Total: -7.25 inches
I finally have losses in all categories!
And the best thing about today is that I put on a shirt that is normally too tight (but I wear it anyway because I like it). Today that shirt fits the way it’s supposed to. I was so surprised when I put it on and didn’t immediately have to pull on it to stretch it away from my hips/belly!
